Here at Macqueens of Rothesay we don’t just pride ourselves in traditional Scottish Sausages, but venture in to other corners of the world for ideas. This is our take on the king of African Sausages. Boerewors a type of sausage which originated in South Africa, is an important part of South African cuisine and is popular across Southern Africa. The name is derived from the Afrikaans/Dutch words boer (“farmer”) and wors (“sausage”). Boerewors must contain at least 90 percent meat, and always contain beef, as well as a little pork butt, these are among the best sausages you can show to your BBQ also are grate for a mixed grill, they are very meaty with coriander, pink salt, cumin helping to bring out the true flavours of our great Beef and Pork
